Violence in Paramedicine Research Group

Welcome, and thank you for visiting

The Violence in Paramedicine Research Group is a collaboration between Peel Regional Paramedic Services and the University of Windsor. Together with a growing list of industry and community partners, we are committed to developing evidence-informed policy that:

  1. Mitigates the risk of violence against paramedics

  2. Supports paramedics who have been affected

  3. Strengthens paramedic and community safety at emergency calls with a high risk of violence

Led by co-principal investigators Justin Mausz and Dr. Elizabeth Donnelly, we undertake robust, translational research on the prevalence of violence against paramedics, its risk factors and the health consequences for paramedics.

We are hosting our first ~monthly service check-in for our partner paramedic services on June 20th at 1:00pm EST. On the agenda:

  1. Project Updates

  2. Upcoming Edits to the External Violence Incident Report

  3. Open Forum Q&A with the Project Team

Can't make the session? The recording will be available on our collaborative Slack workspace afterward and you can catch the next one!
