Violence Against Paramedics Building the Case for Change

Project Launch Deferred

In light of the growing and unprecedented pressures on the healthcare system as a result of the Omicron-driven wave of COVID-19, we have taken the decision to defer the launch of data collection until at least March 1st, 2022.

Welcome, and thank you for visiting

Violence Against Paramedics: Building the Case for Change is a prospective, collaborative epidemiological study being undertaken by Peel Regional Paramedic Services in partnership with the University of Windsor.

Led by Justin Mausz and Dr. Elizabeth Donnelly, we are studying the prevalance of, risk factors for, and the health consequences that result from acts of violence perpetrated against paramedics.

Along the way, we are working with paramedic services in Ontario to develop strategies to mitigate the risk of harm from violence and enhance paramedic and community safety.
